The History of A.C.T.S
A.C.T.S (Aston and Cote Thespian Society) was formed 10 years ago after the proceeds from the pantomime Cinderella helped to raise the funds for some new bells for the church. Everyone enjoyed the experience so much that the society was formed and has delighted audiences with a range of dramatic productions. Who could forget the pantomimes which included Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk and the Gingerbread Man?
The society have also produced some memorable variety shows such as The End of the Pier and a nostalgic war time extravoganza commemorating V.E Day.
Radio plays, a farce or two and murder mysteries have all been tackled with enthusiasm and recieved well by audiences of all ages. A spectacular Alice in Wonderland was performed in the grounds of Cote Manor, allowing the imagination of the audience to run wild. This open air performance was enhanced by fine weather and good food and wine guarenteeing an enjoyable time was had by all.
A drama society is so much more than the actors on stage. The final production is dependent on costume, scenery, lighting, direction, music, prompting, make up and more. Would you like to join this fun loving group in any role? Whatever your talents we can use you. If interested please phone Janice Robison on 01993 850445
