Aston Parish Community Minibus
The Minibus project developed from an original idea put forward by George and Liz Wiltshire early in 1996. After a favourable response from a survey, a committee was formed to organise the finances and running of such a project. With grants, fund raising, generous loans, and advice from neighbouring parishes, a second hand Transit Minibus was purchased to start the first passenger run in the Summer of 1996.
The Minibus enables parishioners who have little or no access to transport to do their weekly shopping in Witney on Thursdays (Market Day), plus a trip to Swindon on the first Saturday of each Month. These operations of the Minibus depend on volunteer drivers, and we are always looking for new members to join the team.
Apart from the regular journeys, the Minibus is open for hire (self drive) to all living in and out of the parish area.
